BIKE EXPO SHOW IN PADUA: ERBACHER DRAG RACING TEAM E GERD HABERMAN RACING TEAM FOR THE FIRST TIME IN ITALY
PADUA (30 October) The programme for the events to take place at the 15th Bike Expo Show of Padua, from the 16th to the 18th of January 2009, is beginning to take shape. The presence of personalities of the calibre of Knud Tiroch, better known in the world of aerography as Tiroch Art and also renowned as the designer and aerographer of the Formula 1 Toro Rosso Team (www.tiroch-art.com) and in the world of custom culture, Hot Rods and Muscle Cars, as Hot Rod Hangar ( www.hotrodhangar.com): an all-round artist and preparer of vehicles who is able to take your breath away with the beauty of his art and stunning performance! The following personalities will be present in the Dragster Area:
- The Erbacher Drag Racing Team (www.fatattack.ch) from Switzerland, made up of Urs Erbacher, who won the first prize in the European FIA Championship in the Top Fuel Category, with his dragster, powered by nitro-methane, which has 8000 HP and is capable of running 400 metres in 4.74 seconds, at a speed of 512 km per hour. Lorenz Stäuble, who competes in the maximum dragster motor bike and has won the European UEM title twice, with his 800 HP Super Twin Top Fuel Bike, reaching 344 km per hour in 6.593 seconds. Last but not least, Sascha Brodbeck will be present, who competes in the V-ROD Destroyer Cup and won the European title in 2006 and 2007. A television series called Kings of Nitro on the Discovery Channel has been dedicated to the Erbacher Team. Urs Erbacher is also proprietor of the motor bike customising firm called Fat Attack, whose vehicles have participated and won the most important international Bike Shows.
These teams will be present for the first time in Italy and in addition to exhibiting their vehicles, they will also take part in the outdoors Burn Out Show, with thrilling performances, accompanied by various Italian Teams.
- The Gerd Habermann Racing Team (www.gerd-habermann-racing.de) from Germany, made up of Gerd Habermann, who has been a protagonist for several years in the world of dragsters, is known by the nickname of “King of Fire” and is now competing in the Competition Category, where he has won several titles. He will also offer some breathtaking spectacles with his 3500 HP Jet Bike, powered by a T-58 jet engine. Ulrike Gold, who has competed in the Competition Category and in 2008 participated in the Harley Davidson V-Rod Destroyer Cup, where he holds second place. They will be participating with 4 Dragsters (1 Top Fuel Dragster, 1 Jet Funnycar – Dragon Hunter, 1 Jetbike – Hellfire, 1 V-Rod Harley Destroyer).
The tight ropewalkers Smanettoni.net will also be guests at the event; they have always been the best performers of a type of motorcycling that it would be limiting to define as acrobatic. Their breathtaking leaps in Freestyle Cross Country and the incredible acrobatics of the stuntmen of the most acrobatic community on the web have already won in many Italian venues all over the peninsula, during recent seasons – and there is no doubt about the fact that their vast “catalogue of acrobatic figures” will magnetise the attention of scores of thousands of visitors (100,000 during the last addition) who are also expected in 2009.
So the Bike Expo Show is starting to take shape, searching for its new identity in the recent past: space for custom, but also for sports bikes, used bikes, specialised spare parts for every sector in the “two-wheeler” universe, but there is also room for motorcyclists and the shows dedicated to them.
